The power windows standard on both the Trailseeker and the Leaf have locks to prevent small children from operating them. When the lock on the Trailseeker is engaged the driver can still operate all of the windows, for instance to close one opened by a child. The Leaf prevents the driver from operating the other windows just as it does the other passengers.
The Trailseeker’s front and rear power windows all open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The Leaf’s passenger windows don’t open or close automatically.
If the windows are left open on the Trailseeker the driver can close all of them at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. (This window function must be activated by your Subaru service department.) The driver of the Leaf can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.
The Trailseeker’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Leaf’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.
To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Trailseeker has a standard rear wiper. The Leaf doesn’t offer a rear wiper.
In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Trailseeker has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Leaf doesn’t offer headlight washers.
The Trailseeker’s standard outside mirrors include heating elements to clear off the mirrors for better visibility. Nissan only offers heated mirrors on the Leaf Platinum+.
Both the Subaru Trailseeker and Nissan Leaf offer exterior mirrors that can be folded to provide convenience. The Trailseeker features standard power folding mirrors, which allow for easy, one-touch folding or unfolding at the driver’s discretion. This provides added convenience when maneuvering or parking, as well as when walking past the parked vehicle. In comparison, the Leaf’s foldable mirrors are manual, requiring the driver to get out and physically fold them once parked and unfold them before getting in.
Standard air-conditioned seats in the Trailseeker Touring keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The Leaf doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.
The Trailseeker’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The Leaf doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.
Both the Trailseeker and the Leaf offer rear vents. For greater rear passenger comfort, the Trailseeker has standard rear air conditioning vents to keep rear occupants cool in summer or warm in winter. The Leaf doesn’t offer rear air conditioning vents, only heat vents.
To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Subaru Trailseeker has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console for two separate devices. Only the Leaf SV+/Platinum+ offers wireless charging, and only charges one device.
The Trailseeker Limited/Touring’s Advanced Park can parallel park by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Leaf doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
